I’m so excited to share the latest addition to the pattern library: the Maple Jacket - now live on Made on Monday and ready for you to sew. I designed this quilted jacket with everything I love about handmade clothing: comfort, versatility, and a touch of cosy, everyday style.

About Maple

  • The Maple Jacket is a relaxed-fit, slightly oversized jacket with drop shoulders, perfect for layering over dresses, jeans or tees.

  • You can sew it with a classic collar, a soft ruffle collar, or go collarless for a simpler look. It has patch pockets, buttons with rouleau-loops (no buttonholes!) and fully bound seams for a neat finish inside and out.

  • Fabric-wise: the pattern plays nicely with lots of fabrics - it's designed to be used with quilted fabrics, whether you make your own patchwork, upcycle and old quilt, or buy pre-quilted fabrics. But the jacket would work beautifully with other fabric types - from linen for a light, airy layer; to cotton canvas for everyday wear; heavier fabrics like denim or corduroy.

Who it’s for & what you get

The Maple Jacket is designed to fit sizes 4–30 so it’s inclusive, roomy, and forgiving. It’s suitable for “confident beginners” so if you have some basic sewing experience (binding, seams, gathering) this pattern is a lovely next step.

What is Made on Monday?

If you’re new here: Made on Monday is my brand home and shop front - the place where all of my sewing patterns live, along with resources to help you feel confident making them. It’s where I’ll continue to release patterns, share launch content, behind-the-scenes updates, and everything that supports the pattern side of my work.


What Kimberley Makes, on the other hand, will continue to be the blog-style space you already know - full of free tutorials, ideas, inspiration, and the more relaxed, creative side of my making life. Think of it like two cosy corners of the same house: one where you can shop and sew along with my patterns, and one where you can explore projects, read guides, and try new techniques without pressure.
