I made mine using soft teddy fleece for that warm, slightly fluffy gingerbread look, then added ric rac, pom poms, felt and embroidery to create all the little icing-inspired details. You can follow my decorations or raid your trims and scraps and make each gingerbread completely your own.
The pattern is straightforward to sew and a lovely festive project for confident beginners, with plenty of opportunity to have fun with the finishing touches.

The house is designed to use a 15" square cushion pad, while the gingerbread person is filled with toy stuffing.
