A roomy everyday tote with a simple tie-side detail that lets you change the shape and give yourself a little extra space when you need it.
 
The Tie Side Tote is a practical bag for everyday use, work, shopping or weekends away. It has a structured shape, an internal patch pocket and a magnetic snap closure, with ties at each side that can be worn tied or loosened to expand the bag.
It’s a lovely project for showing off a favourite fabric and works well in cotton or a slightly heavier fabric for a more structured finish. We've used canvas fabrics too which gives a lovely finish. 
 
Finished size: approximately 13" x 16" x 3".
You’ll need
54" x 19" outer fabric
54" x 26" lining fabric
36" x 28" fusible fleece such as H640
1 magnetic snap
3" circle template
Basting spray, optional
 
No pattern pieces are needed for this project. The instructions use simple measurements, so you can cut the pieces directly from your fabric.
